We’ve been training for this.

We’ve been training for this.

We’ve been training for this.

It’s go time.

You can sleep in January.

These are all things I’ve said to myself the past few days.  And many of you, in whatever profession you’re in, be it an accountant in the 1st quarter, a football coach in the fall, or lawn care guy all summer long, you know what I’m talking about.

This week is the start of the holiday season.  A mix of “oh man I hope I chose things you like” to “did I order enough” to “it’s freaking 2020, who the hell knows what is going to happen”!

This is what I do know.

We have been so fortunate that our customers and friends have stuck by us during this year. I cannot thank you enough for continuing to support us and all other small businesses across this community and the country.

Here are a few of our favorite small shops we hope you’ll check out this Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season.

And as I always say, if you can’t financially support all the local shops you want, please know a post, a mention, a check-in and a recommendation to a friend is invaluable. I think I speak for all my friends above when I say “we appreciate you so much”!

We hope you might join us for Small Business Saturday. Teddy will be in the shop, likely begging for a belly rub.

We’ll have some SBS promotions and of course, if you feel more safe ordering online, we have curbside and shipping options too.

Again, thank you for shopping small. Thank you for supporting local. We wish you a wonderful holiday season, friends.

Ready……BREAK!

It’s simple.

Another spring, another time of year we are knee deep in youth sports. And we only have one kid playing right now. I can’t imagine what you baseball families are experiencing where you have like, what….50 games ahead of you before July?

Whether it is sports, drama, music or any club activity, when our kids are in it, we are in it. A sacrifice for all. And that makes it very personal, right?

You have heard me in many a blog, video or social-media post ask you to continue to support local, small businesses. Beyond my typical catch phrases like “to make a short story long” and “I can smell a lie like a fart in a car”, the one starting to be heard most often is “thank you for supporting small”.

Earlier this month, Em and I took a quick trip to Chicago to scope out new things for fall. I’ve mentioned before that finding the items for the shop is complex process that is a mix of exciting and very nerve-wracking. Many people have asked how this process works, so I wanted to give more details….paint you the picture, if you will.
